Mulder

Very sadly Mulder passed away on the 9th January. He was our much loved little companion for many years and we miss him very much. This selection of photos is our little tribute to him.

Loch Lomond

Last weekend we took a trip to Loch Lomond. This is our accomodation.  Unfortunately it was the coldest weekend of the season and even the underfloor heating couldn't compensate. We wouldn't recommend it for a winter getaway.

The best way to describe it is as a well appointed shed!

A good excuse for John to buy a little gas stove and cook bacon sandwiches in the open air.

The cold didn't dampen the amazing views though.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park

While we were staying in Yorkshire for Christmas we visited one of our favourite attratctions, the Sculpture Park.

Scottish designer Donna Wilson's playful textiles draws inspiration from the landscape to create an eccentric world of knitted trees and curiosities.

The main exhibition was of work by Juame Plensa , large illuminated sculptures and heads formed from letters.

His exhibition included a 50-metre curtain of poetry made of suspended steel letters.

Tantallon Castle

Tantallon Castle is a mid-14th-century fortress, just east of North Berwick. It's the last medieval curtain wall castle to be constructed in Scotland, What you can't see from our photos is just how windy it was that day.

Bonfire Night in Burntisland

For a small town they really put on a terrific show.
